At this very moment I am surrounded by the sights and sounds of American fast food. Thanks to the wonderful phenomenon of free wireless internet, this update is coming to you from a Chic-Fil-A in Waco, Texas. That’s right…we’re back!

Since our last newsletter Christy and I have said goodbye to our friends in Thailand. We boarded that long flight from Asia to North America and made our way back to Texas. After two nights in Tokyo, we finished our journey home on August 4th. In the two weeks since we have enjoyed spending time with family and friends, we left jet lag behind us, we helped move my sister into her college dorm room, we received every piece of our luggage, and we even moved a few of our things to Dallas.

You have been present in our lives these past two years through prayer, support, service, and encouragement.  We continue to be thankful for your friendship. We have enjoyed seeing many of your faces in recent days, and we are excited about spending time with more of you in the coming months. Sometimes it is hard to believe that we’re not just visiting the States right now. We don’t have to pack all of our catching up with you into a week or two. Being away has reminded us of what a gift it is to have you all so close.
